EXPO AXIS
The Expo Axis is the main entrance and main axis of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. It is a semi-open building with two floors on the ground. The Expo Axis is one of the five permanent buildings of the World Expo, including four major museums. It is a large-scale commercial and traffic complex integrating business, catering, entertainment, convention and exhibition services. The Expo Axis is also the largest single project in the Expo site.
It is built by Shanghai World Expo Land Holding Co., Ltd., designed by the German SBA company, Shanghai East China Architectural Design and Research Institute and Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute to complete the construction drawing design. The project is located at Pudong Expo. The center of the park is 1045m long from north to south, 99.5m-110.5m from east to west, and 80m above ground. The base area is 136,000 m, and the total construction area is 252,000 m. The total construction cost is nearly 3 billion, which is the sum of the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube.
